Molly was born three months premature. Weighing less than two pounds, she spent the first 11 months of her life in the hospital.
I had to leave work frequently to be with her in times of emergency. When Molly was weak and struggling to survive each day, I could not worry about my job. Thankfully, I didn't have to.
My manager always told me to do what I needed to do for my family. The support, flexibility and freedom Sun Life Financial offered allowed me to be there for Molly. Sun Life even donated money to the hospital where she received rehabilitation services.
Every day, at least one person still asks me how she is doing. She's become a "mini celebrity" at Sun Life, and we're very appreciative of the company and the people who've helped us every step of the way.
Molly will turn five this summer. I'm so grateful.
